Songbird – Music Player

A beautiful Music Player for the modern generation.

Songbird

Pros
*Cross-platform
*Supports multiformat playback – ogg, mp3, aac, wma, flac & more
*Uses GStreamer
*Watch Folders
*Album Art (configure it in options to be able to get it from internet automatically & to get it from the local folder)
*Web-browser – that’s right, Firefox built-in.
*Custom Skins – Just like an add-on…. Same like Firefox.
*Many add-ons.
*SHOUTcast Radio
*Last.fm Scrobbling

Cons
*Not very stable
*Slow for some reason compared to Winamp.
*More complicated that WMP & Winamp. (You need to get used to it, oh well, it took us some time to get used to WMP & Winamp)

Download here. Ubuntu users go here.

Its alternatives:
1. Amarok (If you’re using KDE/Kubuntu as it suites the theme and environment)
2. Audacious – Lightweight and Winamp like, read the review.
3. Rhythmbox – It comes pre-installed on Ubuntu
4. Listen Audio Player
5. Exaile – Music Player for GTK+
6. Banshee – Play music and videos. Sync your ipod and G1.
7. mpg321 – a Command-Line Interface(CLI) audio player. Read the review.
8. orpheus – another Command-Line Interface(CLI) audio player
